Morris & Co. have historically been a B2B business and for the first time in April 2022, they launched their first concession at Harrods, choosing B_RD as their dedicated partner.
The brief was to create a destination for consumers, where they are engulfed into “A heaven of William Morris product, from Textiles and Wallpaper to Homeware and Fashion”. It required an aesthetic inspired by antique shops, meaning all furniture and fittings were designed with the intention of being all able to be just at home in a residential setting as a retail environment.
The space covered 71.5 sqm. and required to house over 700SKUs, ranging from watches through to refurbished antique furniture.
We designed a series of zones and hotspots, breaking the spaces up as you would in your own home, each housing a mix of suitable furniture, fabrics, wallpapers, products and paints. All furniture and fittings were manufactured in the UK by skilled craftsmen to match the brand’s alignment with the arts and crafts movement. Each piece was hand-crafted in brass and oak, with antiquing finishing so the new furniture aligned with the old.
B_RD developed the concept, design and production of several different designs of mid-floor units, bobbin units, sample tables, dressers, cash desks, mannequins and armoires. As well as executing the full decoration and installation.
